updates from Roberta

Good morning everyone!

I wanted to update you all on what I have accomplished yesterday.  It went smooth & its exciting!  Alteration Nation & The Dollar Scholar agreed to let us use the parking lot for Tuesday & Thursday.  They just wanted clarification on which week.  The parking lot will be blocked off for us.  I am asking my cousin for her very large tent that will cover half of the lot.  Also, I have been handing out the fliers.  Still some simple issues with wording...
Just to make it completely clear, can it say "excepting warm clothing, coats & blankets for ALL SIZES, Infants to Elders!"  Insert the dates for parking lot event.  And then do canvasing!

Lacy had a great idea to sell cups of soup.  I have a grill I can haul down for veggies.  I thought about zucchini/corn on the cob.  (going to the pumpkin patch sunday)  I would love to buy a bunch.  But I want to get re reimbursed.  Maybe people have gardens or friends with gardens who want to contribute???

We also missed you all on Cultural Night at NAYA last night.  It was a smaller turnout than what  I expected.  But, its nice to see that consistency continues with the families who are thereI did a lot of networking with a few folks.  Waited for my meeting with David, but never got to it!  They were videotaping something and  busy.  I will connect with him soon!  I was directed to a Lakota couple to really get things kicked off in South Dakota, which I'm very grateful for!  I got word of a Youth & Elders meeting this evening.  I have class on Tuesday nights so I may not sacrifice the time to go, all though I am tempted!  I did hand out the fliers to some elders and they seemed pleased with the efforts.  The concern was getting to Hawthorne for drop off.  I told them to email, call. get in touch with someone and we will find a way to collect items if loads are large enough & they dont want to wait for 'actual event".

What do you all think?  Where do you advise we move from here?
One Love~
